Throughout centuries, education has been one of the top priorities of our nation. Communicating with the world through languages, conveying our values to others, and understanding the values of other nations require professional mediators. For this very reason, Yerevan State Linguistic University after Brusov has been inseparable from the Armenian history for 70 years. At different times, the University has dealt with different core objectives to attain this noble goal.

The history of the university begins in 1935. Later, as Armenia was developing and strengthening its international relations, the scope of the University’s objectives expanded. It is through education that our University endeavors to contribute to the ongoing dialogue between Armenia and the rest of the world.

To meet current challenges, our University offers new humanitarian majors along with linguistic majors aiming at assuring intercultural communication among people of different countries. After all, language is culture, and culture is language. Moreover, to paraphrase Ludwig Wittgenstein, the boundaries of language are the boundaries of the world.

Keeping in mind the objectives of linguistic education and striving to become a center for foreign language studies, we aim to prepare highly competent specialists who will make their contribution to building bridges between Armenia and the world.

Armenia’s further political and socio-economic development greatly depends on the level of the educational system, as well as on the ability to preserve national values and traditions while responding to the demands of the rapidly changing world. Our University, by proving the significance and importance of its position and remaining devoted to its traditions, takes upon a noble mission of serving our state, our nation, our present and future.
