Abstracts from the University legislation

16. The highest body of the university management is the council. The University council is a collegial management body created for a 5-year term in accordance with the present legislation, with a partial rotation of the council members during the term. The number of members in the council equals 24.
16.1. The council is made up of the university professors and lecturers, students, the founder, and the representatives of a state administration authorized body (hereinafter referred to as the authorized body).

17. The council meetings convene at least once a year. The meetings are considered legitimate if at least 2/3 of the council members are present. The council decisions are made by the simple majority of the council member votes, unless the council decides otherwise. The extraordinary meetings of the council are convened by the suggestion of at least 1/3 of the council members.

18. The council

a) Elects a president to conduct regular meetings of the council and to supervise the implementation of the directives emerging from the council meeting decisions in the period between the meetings
b) Approves of its working schedule
c) Ratifies the university budget
d) Endorses the university strategic plan
e) Hears and evaluates the annual report on the university activities
f) Elects the Rector of the university
g) Submits suggestions concerning the university legislation and amendments to it to the founder
