<i><b>G.Markosyan</b>, Candidate of Science Phililogical , Assistant Professor</i>The Department is the successor of the department of the Russian Language and Literature. As a result of the changes in life’s demands and with the view to helping the students to find jobs in the future, European languages are taught here alongside with the extensive instruction in the Russian Language and Literature. For the past two years Slavonic languages- Slavonic, Ukrainian, Polish, Serbian have been taught as the 3rd foreign language alongside with the cultural studies of the corresponding nations. At present about 500 students are studying here.
The Department trains professionals in the following disciplines:

Russian Language, Literature and English
Russian Language, Literature and Spanish
Russian Language, Literature and German
Russian Language, Literature and French
Russian Language, Literature and Bulgarian
Russian Language, Literature and Area studies
Russian Language, Literature and Translation Work

All the majors offered at the University meet the international standards and are accepted in the NIS and a number of other countries.
